Service Description

Chair yoga is an effective, gentle and accessible form of yoga which has surged in popularity in recent years. In these sessions, you’ll be introduced to breathing and relaxation techniques as well as physical exercises. Every session begins with a short period of settling in, then some exercises designed to warm up and mobilise your joints gently. You’re then led through a range of movements such as twists, side stretches, and seated leg and upper body strengthening exercises. Everyone is encouraged to work at the level and pace appropriate for them as an individual, with the aim of reducing tension, aches and pains, and increasing physical and mental wellbeing. Sessions end with a short guided relaxation – an important and enjoyable part of all yoga classes! If you are able to come regularly, you’ll know key exercises well enough to be confident to practise those you find useful by yourself at home, if you so wish. You’ll have improved in technique, so you’re able to work more deeply into exercises you’ve done throughout the sessions. And you’ll have had the opportunity to have fun and relax whilst getting a gentle, effective workout!
